Found: The Ultimate Day To Night Handbag
Find out why I've been joined at the hip with this pretty little pouch!
Two things I look for in a handbag are 1) HARDWARE!! (did I mention HARDWARE?) and 2) versatility (i.e. the ability to style it multiple ways from day to night). This little baby (called The Claudia Clutch from Dylan Kain) ticks all the boxes, and more than earned its place in my (very tightly edited) suitcase for NYC, LA and beyond.
I’ve been wearing it as a clutch, shoulder bag, and cross body, too (think chic bumbag vibes). During the day, I wear it over my shoulder with a blazer and chunky gold jewellery, then in the evening, I remove the chain strap (it slips perfectly inside), apply some lipstick, slick my hair back and I’m good to go.
It fits all the essentials (e.g. a phone, keys, lipstick) without the clutter (i.e. your half-eaten sandwich from lunch, a million receipts and that book you’d planned to read). There’s something severely satisfying about downgrading to a smaller bag that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together.
It goes without saying that great handbag can have have crazy transformational powers over your outfit.
Picture this; a white tee, black trousers, and a beaten-up old black handbag that lacks any features worth mentioning OR a white tee, black trousers, and THIS super sexy little convertible clutch-to-shoulder bag slung over one shoulder just so.
Last but not least, it’s the ultimate entry level designer bag because it has all the perks i.e. it looks (and feels!) expensive, but it won’t break the bank.
