Lucy Williams On Personal Style And Building A Career In Fashion

Founder – Fashion Me Now, London

“My style has evolved as I’ve gotten older and I’m very grateful it has – I’ve definitely made some dodgy decisions! When I worked in magazines, I followed trends in more literal ways whereas now I like little seasonal tweaks. I’ve learned to never say never and that it’s ok to admire how others dress while equally not needing to replicate. Sometimes noticing a girl with great style on the street can be way more influential than any acclaimed publication.”

“The industry is more saturated than ever so it’s more important to carve your own path. Try not to repeat the well-trodden path and think of a new way to communicate that’s unique to you. Be prepared to work additional hours and have coffee with just about everyone!”
