MATCHESFASHION.COM’s Jane McFarland On Building A Perfect Wardrobe

Fashion Features Editor, MATCHESFASHION.COM, London

“Every woman must own a trouser suit. I have many iterations from velvet to pinstripe, wide-legged to skinny and they are the easiest, most versatile thing to throw on.”

“I mix and match with trainers and heels, t-shirts and camisoles. Current favourites are by Racil and Raey.”

“Coats are the hardest-working piece of any British wardrobe so I always invest in outerwear. Equally, a well-cut pair of trousers instantly elevates a simple outfit – Joseph, Lemaire, Margaret Howell and Hillier Bartley are my go-to brands. Then I always head to Uniqlo and Muji for the basics; knitwear, t-shirts and shirting. And socks!”
