Talk It Out

How do you fix a tired face?

You gotta' fake it to wake it!

So, you stayed up until 2am on Instagram instead of getting that early night you planned? Yeah, so did we!

We’ve slowly and painfully learnt that early nights never go to plan, so it’s always best to have a plan B – a fail safe, eye-bags-be-gone morning regime.

Fixing a tired face is something we’re all used to, what with work, social life, the gym… But do we really do it all that well? Layering up the concealer isn’t always the answer! So, why not fake awake like Carmen and instantly brighten your skin with Estée Lauder Pure Color Envy Hi-Lustre Light Sculpting Lipstick in Hot Chills and a shiny new Courrèges jacket… Best to leave the cucumbers at home!

For more subtle ways to detract from your tired face; here’s our FAIL SAFE battle plan against that morning pillow-face:

Tackle public enemy numero uno: the puffiness. Cold water, cold cucumbers, cold flannel, any of these will work. Use them without mercy. Your freezing face will thank you later. Get your Estée Lauder Double Wear Nude Cushion Stick to do all the heavy lifting. This magic makeup wand hides those stubborn bags and brightens your face with ease, so you can say goodbye to those endless concealer swipes after your next late-night up scrolling or out dancing. Finish off your look with a white tee. It’ll never fail to brighten up your sleepy skin and tired eyes. Grab a good breakfast (chia pudding is a current favourite), down a pint or 6 of water, followed by a coffee the size of your head.

Are you awake yet? WE ARE. Plus we are ready for your morning routine secrets, so leave them in the comments below!

Putting a spoon in the freezer overnight and placing that on my eyes for 30 seconds before concealer works WONDERS for my tired eyes!

I am going to give this a try for sure!

I do light facial massages in the morning or just before bed.. so great for getting the circulation going!

Yes I’ve heard this is hugely beneficial for anti-ageing also!

This is my biggest problem, looking awake !! but i’m gonna try you advises 🙂 thank you for sharing. I don’t really have a morning routine cause i’m always running late but one thing that i like doing is to wash my face with cold water and hydrate it.

I have mastered a one minute make up routine in the morning! I believe it’s all about a little coverage, eyebrows, one lick of mascara and a lip!

      Thank you ! x

I love to apply a natural oil like JoJoba or Argan and massage it into the skin to make my skin feel revitalised before putting any concealer on, it really makes a difference! Also I have really gotten into using a silk pillow slip at night!

What are the benefits of a silk pillow – I am so curious! x

I slap on a refreshing/hydrating face mask and leave it for a few minutes while fixing breakfast. The easiest and quickest way because, let’s be honest here, you would rather be sleeping in than doing your make-up.

I will give this a go! I am all about saving time in the morning but still looking good! Estee Lauder’s ANR fash wash is amazing, it makes my skin so smooth!

  • drinking lots of water is literally my only option – nothing else works for me 🙁

I had a friend who drank 3 litres everyday and she has the most beautiful skin!
