Fray your denim
R.I.P. your ankle seams.
Everywhere I go I see beautiful people in frayed jeans with their sun-kissed ankles bared. I’d assumed their perfect fit and fray was the work of denim whisperers like Rachel Comey, Marques Almeida or 3×1, but *newsflash* – I was wrong.
Ask and you shall find that the greatest frayed denim is actually born in bedrooms worldwide.
But for DIY denim virgins, chopping your favourite jeans can be as daunting as trialling a new haircut. The difference is you don’t need an expert to get it right, so we highly recommend you get snip happy ASAP (on your denim not your hair plz).
This way, you’re 100% in control of how short you crop them, and how much fraying is acceptable before you start getting lame comments from your dad about your ‘holy pants’ or ‘needing a new pair of jeans’.
We’re so in favour of the fray at CHRONICLES HQ that none of us have a single pair of jeans with their ankle seams intact.
So fray and don’t be a-frayed (but if you are, don’t worry, we’ll be there in spirit holding your hand every step of the way).
